Old Tingri To Everest Base Camp – Most Enthralling Trekking Route

Tingri to Everest Base Camp (EBC) trekking route is considered as world-class trekking route. It provides an exhilarating mix of seclusion, wildlife sighting and physical challenge, during the tour. The trekking track from old Tingri to Everest Base Camp is located at altitude ranging between 4400m and 5300m. You are advised to complete 70km in 4 whole days on foot. On the way to EBC you will have sufficient time to explore the glaciers, valleys and the most magnificent world’s highest mountain, Mt Everest. Best Time for trekking:

The best time to visit this place is from May to October when it is summer, with average temperature ranging from 15℃ to 25℃. Avoid rainy season between July and August as landslide usually occurs during this time. Also avoid winter season from November to February as it is very, very cold during these months. Heavy snow could be a great risk for trekking at such altitude.

Way of Tingri to Everest base camp.

You can get there from Tibet capital city Lhasa. Though there is no regular bus service between Lhasa and Tingri, so you can hire a car and drive along the scenic road. You can book the car from Tibet travel agencies.

There are two routes from Lhasa to Tingri. One is driving directly from Sino-Nepal Highway to Tingri. And other is via Gyantse, an ancient Tibetan town. We will recommend you to prefer second route as you will get chance to visit the turquoise holy Lake Yamdrok. Before heading to Tingri, you can make an alternative route to the Sakya Monastery renowned as “the Second Dunhuang” due to its enormous collection of murals, scriptures and Thangkas.
