How to board a flight from Kathmandu to Nepal?
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is the only airport that connects Tibet. It has a domestic and international terminal. Generally, two flights are available from Kathmandu to Lhasa Gonggar Airport. The flight Sichuan Airline takes off at 11:30 and lands at Lhasa at 15:10 (Kathmandu time). Air China departs at 12:10 and arrives at Lhasa at 16:00. Moreover, to board on the flight from Kathmandu, you need to have a Tibet Travel Permit, Tibet Border Pass and a Group Visa.
Which airport should I choose in Tibet?
In total, Tibet has 5 airports. Apart from Lhasa Gonggar Airport, there are Qamdo Bangda Airport, Nyingchi Mainling Airport, Shigatse Peace Airport and Ngari Gunsa Airport. Lhasa Gonggar Airport is the busiest one, and it connects Kunming, Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian and Beijing. In summer and autumn months, daily flights to Chengdu are operated in Shigatse Peace Airport. There are four airplanes connecting Nyingchi Mainling Airport from Chengdu.
