Travel insurance

Travel insurance is highly recommended if you are visiting a place like Tibet. As there are different sorts of policy available, take a look at it types so that you can decide accordingly.

Kind of policy you should prefer

While choosing an insurance policy, make sure that it covers emergency flights or ambulances because people are prone to high altitude sickness in such regions. Prefer an insurance policy that pays hospitals and doctors directly, instead of you to pay them on spot. There are also some policies that will allow you to contact your homeland where you will find an immediate solution to your problem. Remember that in Tibet, reverse-charge calls are out of question.
It will be highly useful if your insurance covers flight and trip cancellation to Tibet. Majority of tourists only rely on their TTB, i.e. Tibet Tourism Bureau permits and pick them up just before a few days before boarding a flight to Tibet. If you lose your permit or the agency fails to obtain the permits on time, you cannot board the flight. On searching online, you can come across multiple agencies offering you a wide array of insurance policies.
