Weather and Packing List

A land of mythology and mysticism, Tibet is a place full of wonders. You will find stories worth remembering in every nook and corner. For every place, there is one season when tourists flock the most. If you are the loner kind and want to avoid the rush season, Tibet is not the place for you. Since it remains snow-bound from October to March, neither can you come here during this period nor you can explore the beauty. Consider the weather and packing list from beforehand as traveling to such a high altitude will not be a matter of joke. The sudden drop in oxygen content in the air might make it difficult for you, but after resting for a day or two, your body will be back to normal.

Weather of Tibet

The tourist season starts from the month of April. Tibetan New Year gets celebrated in March, and visitors start pouring in right after that. The summer season is cool and pleasant with crisp sunrays and a clear blue sky. It gives you the perfect environment for traveling. Lying in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, Tibet will not spoil your trip with sudden bouts of rainfall. You can roam around without sweating or feeling stuffy. However, from October, the temperature starts dropping and many of the roads get blocked due to heavy snowfall. Avoid the winter months, and enjoy Tibet during any time from April to September.

Packing List for Tibet

The first and foremost thing is to take your Chinese visa and Tibet travel permit without which your entry will be denied. Dress in layers so that you can open the hoodie if you feel like. A mountaineering shoe and breathable socks are must for trotting down the rough paths of the Tibetan Plateau. After considering the weather and the packing list, it is not advisable to make your backpack heavy and carry any extra load in the already-thin air. For the minimal accommodation that you will get at the Base Camps, carry your own toiletries. Do not forget to pack in your photography equipment to freeze the scenic beauty. Before packing for the trip, get in touch with our professionals who are already experienced after conducting multiple tours.
